Evangelization
Jesus Light of the World Parish (Mary Queen of Peace and St. David churches) run a monthly 'door to door' evangelization outreach. A group of 6 Catholics, including the pastor, meet monthly from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. They meet to pray, discuss where the ministry is to be done this particular Saturday, and then they go, two by two, from door to door along a specific parish route.
We meet the people, talk and pray with them. We are parish visitors praying for peace in our neighbourhood, praying for the needs of the people and their families, and generally trying to ''spread the good odour'' of Christ.
Though few people actually come to Church because of our visits (it is difficult to tell whether people come back to Church or not), nevertheless, it spreads a good message in the neighbourhood: The Catholics are visiting us; they are friendly; they are not pushy like the Jehovah's witnesses.
There are two teams. One team prays in Church during the parish door to door visits. The other team does the actual visiting. No one goes visiting until they have been first screened (some people have not gift necessary for this type of outreach), and have been trained.

PRAYER OF THE PILGRIM APOSTLES
After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others
and sent them two by two ahead of him
to every town and place
where he was about to go (Luke 10.1)
Lord, you had sent your disciples two by two to proclaim the Good News and that the Kingdom of God is near.
Grant the people who have decided to courageously embark on this ministry, the appropriate words in each situation, inspired by the Holy Spirit. That their zeal and perseverance may not weaken in front of the obstacles they may encounter.
Prepare the hearts of the people in the homes who will open their door so they may welcome you through these witnesses of your Gospel.
Walk with them, protect them and may they return from each journey with joy, reporting the wonders of the salvation that you accomplish in them and through them.
